Faza, Kenya – September 25, 2025

In a landmark effort to safeguard children’s rights, Faza Youth, working in collaboration with MWARP, the County Government, and the Children’s Office hosted a public participation forum that brought together members of the Faza community to craft policies aimed at protecting children from abuse and neglect.
The forum, held in Faza, emphasized the importance of community-driven solutions in addressing child protection challenges. Participants included local leaders, parents, youth representatives, and child welfare advocates, all contributing to a shared vision of a safer and more nurturing environment for children.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to inclusive governance and the protection of our most vulnerable,” said a representative from the Children’s Office. “By involving the community directly, we ensure that the policies we develop are both relevant and sustainable.”
Discussions focused on strengthening reporting mechanisms, promoting awareness of children’s rights, and enhancing coordination between local institutions and law enforcement. The outcomes of the forum will inform future legislative and administrative actions at the county level.
